i’m back!

I've been a bit quiet lately.

It's down to no particular reason other than the fact that sometimes - as a feminist - I feel like just hiding under the covers of it all. But the patriarchy is still ruling with an iron cock, so here I am - back to do my bit in attempting to battle it out.

Also, I wanted to say a huge thank you to all those who visit my blog regularly, to those who have just found me, to the silent readers and to those just passing through. I write down my feelings so that I can get them out of my head, but also to share them with others. It's tough for a feminist (or any forward-thinking person) in this world to voice their opinions without being shot down by others, so I am eternally grateful to those wonderful women (and men) who leave me such encouraging and sincere comments. As corny as it sounds, this is the foundation of the feminist movement - sisterhood.

Quick

Just a quick update to say that I’ve now included “about me” and “faq” sections, which you can find to the left of this.

And, to quickly say that I will never be buying from The Body Shop again. Oh well, no huge loss. Their products aren’t particularly natural either, anyway.

NO more trolls

Right. I really didn’t want to have to do his, but I’m now only allowing comments that I approve of to appear.

This blog is MINE. I do not have time nor inclination to control it like some sort of playground. If you are offended by what I say, then you can very kindly fuck off.

If that upsets you, then get over it.

I’m not happy that I’m having to do this, as I do appreciate healthy debates, but “that’s all you were made for, cooking, cleaning and sex you sluts” is neither healthy nor a debate point.

So, Ms Violet’s Musings is now officially a troll free zone.

Gah, the Affleck/Lynx madness

It appears the fat-cats at Lynx have decided that men just can’t live without one if those fantastic clicker-thingies from the advert and so - brace yourselves - are marketing them at the masses.

Lovely.

And I’m here. Hooray.

I tried to fiddle about with a different theme, but found myself getting increasingly frustrated by it all. I’ll probably come back to it at another point, and - anyway - I like the grass for the time being.

Time For A Change

I have decided that, in an attempt to make me blog more, I will open this place up to be about all sorts of issues and not just primarily feminist ones. This does not mean that this isn’t a feminist blog anymore, I just want to feel I can include posts on a variety of topics.

One day I will also change the layout here. I am fed up of this bloody pink.

I’m Still Alive

I have been awful and blogging lately and I really have no excuse for it. I do plan on getting back into the swing of things soon enough though, so don’t give up on me!
